MANCHESTER AND ITS environs ENGRAVED FROM AN ACTUAL SURVEY. MADE IN 1824 BY WILLIAM SWIRE, LEEDS. An interesting detailed engraved plan of the city. Embellieshed with two vignette views of Manchester from Ordsall and Fro the Royal Hotel. Inset is a small plan of Manchester and Salford taken about 1650. This plan which was engraved by Franks and Johnson appears as a folding map in History Directory Gazetteer of Lancashire by Edward Baines. It is rarely found in fine condition as it is folded into the book. This specimen has the fold creases with a split and small hole in one of them. Small split at the top of one fold.
