| 91415 The Marly Machine, Nicolas de Fer, 1705 COUPE DE LA MACHINE DE MARLY. A good early 18th century print of this remarkable machine designed by the Walloon carpenter Renkin Sualem to lift water from the Seine for its journey to Versailles to fill the ponds and work the fountains. Completed in 1688. The print shows a view of the situation of the machine to the aqueduct on the top of the hill. Above is a detail of the machine with key. 13 1/4 x 9 inches. Uncoloured.
