HINDOOSTAN. A good detailed engraved map of India with an inset map of Ceylon. The map extends to the north to include Nepal and part of Tibet.To the right are three items concerning the River Ganges. Section of the Ganges, Course of the Ganges in the Dry Season and a map of the Inland Navigation of the River Ganges. 23 3/4 x 18 inches Original outline and wash hand colouring to the map of India, the Ganges items being uncoloured. Some light vertical creasing that took place in the atlas, just right of the right hand border of the map, in the Ganges area. The left hand side one is of Kabul or Cabul. The right hand side one is of Nepal or Nepaul and shows the region in great detail at a time when few westerners had visited Nepal.
